Bio

Ben Carroll is a well-known Universal recording artist and musician. His band Ra (Universal/SMR) has released 5 records over the past 7 years with combined sales reaching over a half million units. Ra has had multiple charting radio singles, songs used in multiple movies, television and sporting events, has played with the biggest bands: Korn, Godsmack, Disturbed, Seether, Alice in Chains, and the Deftones, to name but a few, and has worked with the industry’s top producers and engineers. The ESP & Mesa/Boogie endorsed guitarist has also just released his first instrumental solo album, "A Dream Between Two Fires" and is working on his first guitar instructional book, the first of many to come.

Ben is also about to take his musicianship, drive, and ambition in a totally new direction, and directly to you and for you. Having achieved his lifelong dreams of rock stardom; playing stadiums, selling hundreds of thousands of CD’s, traveling in tour buses, and well, just living the fantasy, Carroll still felt there was something else; something innovative; something that would make an even greater difference in the lives of music lovers, musicians, and the rock music industry.

Ben, no stranger to the benefits of music education, honed his "chops" at Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, and Musicians Institute, Hollywood, CA. He started teaching guitar lessons out of his home studio in Massachusetts to make some extra money during his downtime. But, doing local guitar lessons didn’t match his grand aspirations. Carroll had a vision and turned it into a mission. He saw a crying need and set out to fill it. He, and his business partner, Greg Pettis came up with The American Rock Star Academy (TARSA), an online music school focused specifically on generating tomorrows rock stars. TARSA provides the student with live, one-on-one, music instruction from today’s real-world rock stars via the internet, an amazing opportunity for people who want to learn their instrument from the musicians that they look up to. But lessons are just the tip of the iceberg. The potential is limitless for the artist, the student, and the industry. Now the wholly owned educational arm of The RockDoctors, LLC, there is nowhere to go but up. And, that is exactly where it is going, and quickly.
